Welcome! I’m Gerhard Schmitt—or simply “Schmittke”—and I teach electric and acoustic guitar in Berlin-Weissensee. No matter your age, or whether you’re just starting out or already playing at a professional level, I’ll guide you on your guitar journey—covering everything from pop, rock, metal, and jazz to the fundamentals of classical guitar.

Electric guitar, acoustic guitar (nylon-string), steel-string guitar, ukulele, classical guitar, electric bass.
Musical styles and other topics I teach:
Pop, Rock, Jazz, Metal, and song accompaniment – whether you are just starting out or are already a professional. I can also teach you music theory and songwriting.
Languages:
Lessons can be conducted in German or English.
Trial lesson:
I offer a trial lesson with no obligation to sign a contract. You receive a full guitar lesson or a consultation on the type of guitar you need, and together we determine the best path for you to learn the guitar.
If you are already at an advanced level or an aspiring professional, the first lesson allows you to decide whether you would like to continue with my lessons.
Trial lesson rates:
30 min: € 30,-
45 min: € 45,-
60 min: € 60,-
Rates:
With a contract:
With a contract, 30 min of lessons per week (excluding school holidays): € 90,- / month.
With a contract, 45 min of lessons per week (excluding school holidays): € 135,- / month.
For regular weekly lessons, we sign a one-year contract. The tuition fee is then spread across 12 equal monthly payments. No lessons take place during school holidays. Essentially, the setup is just like that of a standard music school. I recommend this type of approach particularly if you are just starting to play the guitar or if—like most children and teenagers, as well as many adults—you prefer a consistent routine.
No contract required:
10-session pass (30 min): € 300,-
10-session pass (45 min): € 450,-
10-session pass (60 min): € 600,-
I recommend the 10-session pass if you already play well and are looking for fresh inspiration, rather than needing regular weekly feedback.
10-session passes are valid for one year from the date of purchase; any unused sessions expire after that period.
Cancellation policy:
If you are unable to attend a scheduled lesson, the following applies: sessions can be rescheduled if cancelled at least 48 hours in advance. For cancellations made with less notice—including in cases of illness—the full fee for the lesson must be paid.
